About The Position

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for utilizing the AMOS Data Base to monitor aircraft status, schedule maintenance tasks, and ensure compliance with all regulations and directives. This role involves coordinating with various departments to ensure material availability and timely completion of maintenance events. The planner will also be involved in updating planning documents, facilitating meetings, and assisting with new aircraft integration.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years experience in large aircraft maintenance or large aircraft maintenance planning
  • General knowledge in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
  • General knowledge of large aircraft systems and structures (Boeing Model 747, 767, & 777 preferred)
  • General knowledge of large aircraft manuals (e.g. AMM, CMM, IPC, MPD, etc...)
  • Experience in reading and understanding Airworthiness Directives (AD), Service Bulletins (SB), and Engineering Orders (EO)
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English Language

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanic certificate with Airframe & Powerplant ratings (CFR 14, Part 65 D) preferred but not required.
  • Equivalent military knowledge/experience in the areas listed above is acceptable

Responsibilities

  • Monitor aircraft status, including TAT, TAC, flight schedule, projected Flight Hours (FH) & Flight Cycles (FC), and geographic locations.
  • Monitor time remaining on routine/scheduled maintenance tasks, components, and engines to ensure on-time accomplishment.
  • Issue Purchase Requests (PR) for required materials (parts & tooling) for maintenance tasks, Airworthiness Directives (AD), and Service Bulletins (SB).
  • Issue routine/scheduled maintenance tasks to ensure accomplishment within Calendar, FH, and FC limits.
  • Prepare and issue work-scopes, work-packages, and work-orders for scheduled maintenance events.
  • Produce Tally Sheets and Materials Reports for work packages.
  • Research maintenance task history.
  • Create and update flight blocks on the flight board to show required ground time for scheduled maintenance checks.
  • Update maintenance planning forecasts and reports.
  • Create Workorders for accomplishment/compliance of Fleet Campaign Directives (FCD).
  • Send email reports to the “Flight Schedule” group detailing planned maintenance schedule vs. flight schedule.
  • Work closely with the Quality Control department in implementing Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins.
  • Review newly released ADs/SBs/EOs and identify required materials (parts & tooling), issuing Part Requirements.
  • Work closely with Stores and Maintenance departments to ensure material availability for issued tasks.
  • Inform the Maintenance Planning Manager when materials cannot be made available for a task in a planned location and downtime.
  • Review GMM & MIP revisions for maintenance program changes affecting assigned aircraft/engines/components and update documentation accordingly.
  • Facilitate predock meetings for heavy checks, providing supporting documents.
  • Accomplish audits of work packages generated by other planners for accuracy and completion.
  • Maintain planning logs for Engineering Authorizations (EA), Engineering Orders (EO), Fleet Campaign Directives (FCD), and Supplemental Maintenance Tasks.
  • Develop and support Maintenance Action Plans (MAP) for on-time accomplishment/compliance of routine/scheduled tasks.
  • Assist in the implementation of new aircraft into the Kalitta Air fleet.
  • Assist in maintaining an AD & SB hard copy library.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Planning Manager.
