About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring the safety of all associates by identifying and proactively addressing safety concerns. The Maintenance Planner & Scheduler will actively oversee, develop, and participate in preventative maintenance activities, ensuring effective communication across shifts and with production teams. Key responsibilities include building detailed job plans for the maintenance team, ensuring work orders are kitted/staged with all necessary parts, and utilizing preventive maintenance systems to reduce unscheduled downtime. The position requires efficient troubleshooting methods to meet uptime, production volume, and quality goals. Continuous improvement efforts involving maintenance and production crews in problem-solving are essential to maximize facility improvements in safety, housekeeping, waste reduction, quality, productivity, and cost. The role involves using computer-based programs to support effective prioritization of maintenance requests, manage maintenance inventory, and delegate maintenance resources. Additionally, the role involves identifying safety, environmental, quality, and production issues, implementing measures to minimize cost and reduce waste, and providing backup support to maintenance supervisors for electrical maintenance activities and work assignments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in an electrical maintenance position
  • Work related experience in leading and ensuring compliance with safety initiatives
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of electrical & mechanical processes & troubleshooting
  • Proven expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance methods
  • Ability to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with all associates
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic, good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency in MS Office, other windows based programs and internet skills
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems such as Maximo, SAP, or other CMMS applications
  • Must be willing to work holidays as needed, be “on-call” and provide rotating weekend support as schedule requires
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and at heights should conditions warrant

Nice To Haves

  • Technical, Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Experience in wood products manufacturing
