About The Position

The Maintenance Person is responsible for the physical maintenance and the general repair of the exterior and interior of the buildings, systems and fixtures within the apartment property.

Requirements

• General working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and grounds work.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must have at least six (6) months of verifiable hands-on general maintenance experience (i.e., plumbing, electrical, carpeting, painting, etc.).
• Must possess the ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Must be able to do simple math calculations.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk.
• Must have a full range of body movements including the use of hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, peripherals, and bending, reaching and crouching.
• Must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
• Must hear and speak well enough to conduct business over the telephone for long periods of time.
• Must have the ability to lift up to 75 pounds or more on a regular basis.
• Must be able to read and write English well enough to read reports and communicate effectively with all concerned or related to the business.
• Must be capable of applying sound business judgment and common sense to all decisions.

Nice To Haves

• Trade School and/or military training.
• Six (6) months experience in apartment maintenance.
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in Maintenance.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• The ability to use a computer is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the physical maintenance and general repair of the exterior and interior of buildings, systems, and fixtures within the apartment property.
• Ensure properties are in good condition with an attractive outside appearance.
• Ensure rental units are in good repair.
• Maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for tenants.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory agency requirements.
