Maintenance Person
About The Position
Responsible for the general maintenance of the health department buildings and grounds; Performs related work as required. This role ensures the health department buildings and grounds are adequately maintained, including overseeing heating, lighting, ventilation, and cleanliness. The position involves inspecting and performing minor repairs on electrical, plumbing, and heating equipment, arranging office equipment, supervising grounds and building upkeep, and acting as custodian for department property, including managing the receipt and shipping of materials and equipment.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- One (1) year of experience in building maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the building has adequate heating, lighting, and ventilation and that it is properly cleaned.
- Inspects electrical, plumbing, heating, and other equipment and makes minor repairs for their maintenance.
- Arranges desks, files, and other office equipment.
- Supervises the upkeep of grounds and buildings.
- Acts as custodian of all department property.
- Supervises the receipt and shipping of all materials and equipment.
