About The Position

The Maintenance Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all production equipment, plant facilities, and supporting infrastructure in a cabinet manufacturing environment. This role leads preventive and predictive maintenance programs, manages maintenance personnel and vendors, and drives continuous improvement to minimize downtime and support production performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment, preferably woodworking or cabinet production
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machinery, woodworking equipment, dust collection systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and finishing processes
  • Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Strong safety background

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability practices
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for woodworking machinery, CNC routers, finishing equipment, dust collection systems, and other plant assets
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to minimize unplanned downtime and maintain production flow
  • Supervise maintenance technicians and custodial staff
  • Provide training and enforce safety protocols
  • Oversee building systems (HVAC, lighting, plumbing), utilities, and grounds to ensure compliance and operational efficiency
  • Manage relationships with service providers for specialized repairs, inspections, and facility upgrades
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA, NFPA, and environmental regulations
  • Maintain documentation for audits and inspections
  • Prepare and manage maintenance budgets
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables
  • Implement lean maintenance practices and reliability-centered maintenance strategies to optimize equipment performance
  • Develop contingency plans for equipment failures, power outages, and facility-related emergencies
