The Maintenance Operations Manager oversees and manages the productivity of their area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and/or analyzing business reports, communicating goals, and managing staffing, scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals. This role involves identifying and resolving associate, customer, and supplier concerns. The manager ensures maintenance department daily operations are performed properly by monitoring and driving department performance related to maintaining warehouse equipment (e.g., material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air compressors, general building repairs) and ensuring associate compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT) related to maintenance operations. They also manage associates and leaders by giving direction, monitoring performance, providing feedback, identifying training and development needs, and providing opportunities for learning and growth, while teaching, supporting, and modeling Logistics and company policies and procedures. This role drives the business plan for the area of responsibility to achieve facility goals (e.g., production, quality, safety) by implementing operational improvements, monitoring expenses and capital expenditures against budget, monitoring asset utilization, and developing/maintaining procedures and supporting documentation. The manager builds and leads a team to execute business objectives, coaches team members, and conducts performance and career development conversations, mentoring other managers. They demonstrate expertise in maintenance equipment, tools, and procedures to drive quality maintenance services and enforce company and regulatory policies, standards, and procedures. The role directs and instructs others on equipment and facility maintenance and repair, implements guidelines to maintain customer satisfaction and compliance with maintenance standards (e.g., lock out/tag out, contractor safety), and coordinates job-related activities by developing stakeholder relationships, supporting initiatives, communicating goals, identifying improvement opportunities, and demonstrating adaptability. Finally, the manager provides supervision and development for associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, recognizing contributions, and promoting a culture of belonging, while ensuring compliance with company policies and supporting the company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
