About The Position

The Maintenance Operations Coordinator provides administrative, planning, procurement, inventory, and documentation support for the maintenance function at Prairie Farms Dairy – Somerset production facility. This role is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the facility's work-order system, monitoring preventive maintenance activities and repair schedules, procuring maintenance parts, materials, and supplies, and maintaining accurate parts inventory records. The position also supports compliance with company safety, sanitation, food-safety, and maintenance procedures. The Coordinator works closely with Maintenance, Production, Sanitation, Quality/Food Safety, Purchasing, and other facility personnel to ensure equipment is maintained in a timely, safe, sanitary, and documented manner. This is an hourly, non-supervisory position with no direct reports.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including email, spreadsheets, and database or maintenance-management systems.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance personnel, production personnel, vendors, and management.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing/food-processing environment and follow applicable safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests and changing maintenance needs.
  • Ability to identify overdue work, missing information, inventory shortages, and procurement issues.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees across multiple departments.

  • Ability to understand and follow written procedures, manufacturer instructions, safety requirements, and company policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in maintenance administration, maintenance coordination, purchasing, inventory control, manufacturing, food processing, warehousing, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, processing, packaging, or other industrial maintenance concepts.
  • Experience with a CMMS, ERP, inventory-management, purchasing, or work-order system.
  • Experience in a dairy, food-processing, beverage, or other regulated food-manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
  • Experience managing maintenance parts or MRO inventory.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Familiarity with pumps, motors, valves, conveyors, refrigeration systems, boilers/utilities, processing equipment, packaging equipment, or clean-in-place (CIP) systems.
  • Familiarity with food-safety and sanitation requirements applicable to dairy or food-processing facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, inventory activities, and other maintenance-related administrative activities as assigned.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of standardized maintenance documentation, equipment records, parts lists, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned by the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor.
  • All other duties as assigned.
