As a Multi-Craft Technician, you’ll play a critical role in keeping our production running safely, efficiently, and reliably. You’ll be the technical expert on the floor—troubleshooting complex systems, leading repairs, and driving continuous improvement across our operations. This position works out of our Casa Grande, Arizona location in the Abbott Nutrition division. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred (mechanical/electrical or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in manufacturing maintenance, ideally in a regulated environment (food, pharma, etc.)
  • Strong skills in: Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Reading schematics and blueprints
  • PLC diagnostics and programming basics
  • Welding, fabrication, or machining
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a dynamic environment

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, alignment, etc.) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the go-to technical expert for equipment reliability, responding to unplanned downtime and breakdowns
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on high-speed processing, filling, and packaging systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, PLC, and control systems to identify root cause and implement lasting solutions
  • Design, fabricate, and install equipment improvements, including welding and machining components
  • Support and lead planned shutdowns and major maintenance activities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to optimize equipment performance
  • Use data and problem-solving tools (e.g., 5 Whys, analytical troubleshooting) to drive continuous improvement
  • Maintain accurate documentation using work order and inventory systems
  • Mentor and train team members, sharing your technical expertise
  • You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
