The Multi-Craft Technician will safely perform all necessary duties and responsibilities relative to general maintenance and electrical repair of machines, equipment, Powerhouse, buildings and grounds. This role involves troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of machines, including constructing, installing, maintaining, and removing various types of machinery and equipment. The technician will also perform machine shop work, tooling, pipefitting, mechanical work, carpentry, sheet metal work, and rigging. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, preventative maintenance, repair, spill containment, clean-up, and recordkeeping of environmental systems, as well as performing basic structural welding tasks. The role also encompasses the lubrication of machines, equipment, vehicles, and buildings, including changing oils and greases, servicing filters, cleaning units, taking oil samples, and repairing minor leaks. Establishing lubrication routes, maintaining schedules, and performing centrifuging and filtering operations are also key duties. The technician will report supply needs and unusual conditions to supervision, and may be required to drive company vehicles on plant property, handle paperwork, and keep their work area clean. Additionally, they will assist in safety and fire prevention inspections and fire control, and perform all job duties in accordance with ContiTech’s environmental policy. The position requires monitoring process and machine parameters during critical belt runs, troubleshooting machine malfunctions using PLC techniques, and improving plant processes through PLC program modifications. This includes troubleshooting AC and DC controls, auditing machine set points, verifying calibration of controllers and recorders, and documenting machine PLC programs and audit findings. The technician will install and repair electrical equipment, including switchgear, motors, starters, switches, and instruments, and will be capable of working safely on voltages up to 480. They will also maintain inside and outside lighting and motors. The position involves working occasionally around heat, dirt, grease, oil, contact with water, and at various heights, requiring a high degree of responsibility for correct analysis and quality work. Technicians must furnish their own basic hand tools and be capable of using standard electrical instruments and reading blueprints, sketches, and specifications. The role requires the ability to work 12-hour shifts, both night and day.
