About The Position

As a Maintenance Electrician, you will maintain and optimize all facility electrical systems—lighting, production equipment, and building infrastructure—by inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing components. Decide when to pull machines from production, perform preventive maintenance, install machinery and electrical apparatus per blueprints, and requisition parts to sustain uptime. Communicate across shifts via logbooks and uphold all plant safety practices.

Requirements

  • Two (2) year degree in electrical or trade school certifications in basic PLC, controls troubleshooting, arc flash training, national electrical regulations, or high voltage preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • OSHA Certified Industrial Truck Operator License.
  • Minimum of two (2) years maintenance experience working with a variety of mechanical equipment in a heavy industrial environment.
  • To perform this job successfully, individuals must demonstrate the following:
  • Observe safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.
  • Accurately count and perform basic math functions, including mental calculation of simple equations and/or fractions.
  • Proficient in English (reading and writing).

Responsibilities

  • Determine if machines need to be taken out of production for repairs or service.
  • Requisition parts/materials that are necessary for the continued operation of the plant.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled and as needed.
  • Communicate maintenance issues with other shifts to ensure continuity of operation.
  • Read and record comments in both Maintenance and Production logbooks.
  • Remain current on plant and safety matters, and participate in department/plant safety meetings.
  • Oversee all electrical needs for the facility, including lighting, production equipment, and systems.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Replace defective electrical switches and other fixtures.
  • Repair and maintain electrical equipment for the building.
  • Install machinery and equipment according to blueprints and other specifications with regard to electrical requirements.
