About The Position

Doncasters Storms Forge is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Springfield, MA. The expected hours for this position are 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with a pay range of $30.00–$50.00 per hour, based on experience. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will help ensure our production equipment and facility operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will perform hands-on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repairs across mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. You will also collaborate with multiple departments across the site to identify equipment issues, minimize downtime, and keep machinery operating at full capacity.

Requirements

  • Previous industrial maintenance experience
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and pneumatic equipment
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment or a working knowledge of PLCs
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to diagnose equipment problems and identify effective solutions
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience with industrial equipment installations
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
  • 3 years previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing organisation

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification in mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, or a related field
  • Traditional apprenticeship completion and/or equivalent technical education
  • Welding and fabrication experience
  • Low-voltage electrical experience
  • HVAC experience
  • Completed an Advanced Apprenticeship or HNC equivalent in Electrical engineering with a good PLC knowledge in programming, fault finding and diagnosis

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment and machinery
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment breakdowns
  • Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Assist with troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment
  • Support industrial equipment installations as needed
  • Document daily maintenance activities and provide detailed written descriptions of work performed
  • Perform welding and fabrication work as required and within skill level
  • Assist with facility and groundskeeping duties as required
  • Communicate effectively with production and other departments regarding equipment status, repairs, and maintenance needs
  • Prioritize maintenance activities to support safe and efficient plant operations
