Maintenance Mechanic
About The Position
One of our valued manufacturing clients in Iron Ridge, Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support plant equipment reliability, preventative maintenance, and fast-response troubleshooting. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on industrial maintenance professional with strong experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment within a fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate enjoys solving equipment issues quickly, minimizing downtime, and partnering closely with production to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 3–5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills with motors, bearings, conveyors, gearboxes, and mechanical systems
- Working knowledge of 480V / 3-phase electrical systems
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics
- Familiarity with PM programs and CMMS systems
- Ability to work independently and prioritize urgent repairs
- Strong attention to detail and plant safety
Nice To Haves
- PLC troubleshooting experience preferred
- Welding, fabrication, or furnace equipment experience highly preferred
- Experience in metal fabrication or heavy manufacturing strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic PLC-controlled equipment
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production machinery, furnaces, welding systems, conveyors, and facility utilities
- Respond quickly to equipment downtime and emergency maintenance calls
- Repair motors, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, sensors, and production support systems
- Install, relocate, and modify equipment to support process improvements and production flow
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, manuals, and technical documentation
- Maintain accurate work orders, PM logs, and parts usage within the CMMS
- Support 5S, continuous improvement, reliability, and safety initiatives
- Partner with outside vendors and contractors when needed
