About The Position

Alter Trading Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for its Green Bay, Wisconsin facility. The role involves troubleshooting and repairing stationary and mobile equipment and assisting with general maintenance. Work includes basic repairs to conveyors, motor boxes, and bearings; welding and repairing trailers, roll-off containers, and lugger containers; repairing shredders, conveyors, and other machinery; and potentially performing fabrication duties. The mechanic also supports preventive maintenance and other repairs, operates equipment as needed, and performs other assigned responsibilities.

The position is in person and includes both indoor and outdoor work. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Saturday work may be required based on operational needs. The mechanic must wear necessary personal protective equipment while working in the yard and follow company safety standards at all times. Pay is based on experience.

Requirements

• Required stick-welding and fabrication skills.
• Two to three years of preventive maintenance experience.
• Two to three years of stick-welding experience.
• Ability to perform work on conveyors, motor boxes, and bearings.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 30–50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair stationary and mobile equipment.
• Weld and repair trailers, roll-off containers, and lugger containers.
• Repair shredders, conveyors, and other machinery as needed.
• Perform basic work on conveyors, motor boxes, and bearings.
• Perform fabrication duties as needed.
• Assist the maintenance department with preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Operate equipment as needed.
• Wear required PPE in the yard and follow company safety standards.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
