About The Position

Pacific Coast Producers (PCP), a growing agricultural cooperative with food production facilities across the West Coast, is looking for an experienced and highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at our Downtown Plan in The Dalles, OR. Requirements

  • Four years’ experience as a Mechanic or a similar technical position; with two years’ experience as a Mechanic II at Pacific Coast Producers.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in at least four of the following skills: electrical, welding, lift truck mechanics, plumbing/pipefitting, heating/air conditioning systems, boiler care and maintenance, instrument repair, machine adjustment and repair, and carpentry.
  • Demonstrate ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions related to operations and safety.
  • Demonstrates excellent safety record and follows all Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Must possess and maintain a good attendance record.
  • Must be LTO certified.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree from a mechanical, electrical, or electronic technology program may be substituted for one year of required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the condition of all production equipment, forklifts and other machinery
  • Perform installation, troubleshooting and repairs to production equipment, machinery, and plant facilities.
  • Interpret blueprints and perform metal or wood fabrication for plant machinery
  • Install and repair electrical distribution systems and power wiring and equipment
  • Install and repair motors, motor wiring, and control systems
  • Perform arc and gas welding of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
  • Maintain heating system, ventilation, boiler, and air conditioning units
  • Perform maintenance and repair to forklifts
  • Perform general carpentry work, plumbing and pipefitting
  • Maintain a clean, organized and hazard free work environment
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and Plant Manager
  • Uphold the safety and quality of the facilities and products produced.
  • Report all food safety issues or concerns to a Production Manager, Plant Manager or QA Management
