The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for overseeing maintenance on all machinery during their shift, troubleshooting plant maintenance issues, and performing timely repairs, upkeep, and preventive maintenance. This role ensures adequate repair parts are stocked, utilizes the MRO system for inventory management, and makes recommendations for equipment improvements. The mechanic also assists with set-ups, start-ups, and qualifications, striving for continuous improvement of equipment and serving as an example for housekeeping and safety standards. They are responsible for ensuring daily PMs are performed and recorded, and for entering all Work Order Requests into the automated tracking system, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and reporting. Additionally, the role involves troubleshooting molding processes and auxiliary equipment to produce quality parts, answering machine alarms, and removing stuck parts or runners. The position requires a strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated knowledge of troubleshooting and experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLCs, as well as the ability to work in a team environment and provide guidance to peers and production personnel.
