Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • 1 – 2 years’ experience working in warehouse, fulfillment, or manufacturing
  • 1 plus years’ experience with mechanical and/or electrical repair required
  • Knowledge of fabrication, machine shop tools, welding, hydraulics and/or pneumatics
  • Ability to read and follow schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprints
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently
  • Manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance are required

Nice To Haves

  • LME (Limited Maintenance Electrical) License preferred
  • EPA Refrigeration Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the operation of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic equipment and completing preventative maintenance.
  • Prioritizing the safety of yourself, your coworkers, and the company.
  • Working closely with Operations and the site’s many teams to increase mechanical uptime which is an integral part of the building process to produce high quality breads, buns, and rolls for customers all throughout Oregon, Washington, and Alaska.
  • Helping to keep food moving quickly to our stores and communities.
  • Observing all company safety policies and procedures as well as maintain good housekeeping, GMP and Global Food Safety practices.
  • Changing over, repairing, and troubleshooting all plant production equipment.
  • Supporting equipment installation, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
  • Identifying complex problems with mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic issues on all associated equipment (conveyors, compressors, chillers, programmable controllers, robots); reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Understanding and completing Preventative Maintenance based on Preventative Maintenance schedules.
  • Understanding machine processing and recipe management.
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Identifying the appropriate tools and equipment needed to complete the job.
  • Responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner and completing maintenance reports as required.
  • Maintaining plant equipment to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Working with vendors and/or contractors as required.
  • Ensuring spare parts or services are ordered as required.
  • Making required changes or adjustments as required.
  • Implementing operational improvements (spoilage, downtime, line speeds, etc.).
  • Training others to operate equipment and produce products safely and efficiently.
  • Maintaining organization of spare parts.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
  • Completing special projects and duties as assigned.
  • Continuously monitoring and physically inspecting production equipment.
  • Diagnosing mechanical problems and determining how to correct them- checking blueprints- repair manuals- or parts catalogs- as necessary.
  • Dismantling and reassembling machines to fit or replace necessary parts.
  • Conducting electrical repairs (i.e., wiring).
  • Rebuilding/fabrication of equipment.
  • Welding stainless steel (tubing, rods), black iron and other related materials.
  • Completing work orders.
  • Maintaining logs and records.
  • Complying with all Integrated Management System policies and procedures.
  • Investigating electrical and instrument equipment failures and developing action plans to eliminate repetitive failures.
  • Welding, performing sheet metal work and fabrication.
  • Employing basic shop floor skills (lathe- drill press- grinder- and other metalworking tools).
  • Locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
  • Providing mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
