About The Position

Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties. Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Lubricates and cleans parts. Documents all work done on work orders per established procedures. Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Inspects used parts to determine dimensional changes. Adjusts functional parts of equipment and control devices. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Starts devices to test their performance. Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Troubleshoots and repairs basic electrical equipment. Welds/fabricates equipment and components. Other Duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least one year maintenance experience in a manufacturing/food processing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic and algebraic functions.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot equipment/process problems and propose solutions. Problem-solving skills are essential to this position.
  • 18 Years of age or older

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school/occupational training desired but not required.
  • Conversational Spanish is highly desired but not required.
