Requirements

  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical and pneumatics is required.
  • Minimum of 3 year's experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing setting, preferably working around metal sheet processing equipment.
  • Respectful written and verbal communication.
  • A proactive and action-oriented nature, relative to not just being reactive to emergencies but continuously refining preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Excellent analytical skills – logical and systematic approach.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adjust priorities by impact with minimal oversight.
  • Complex Problem-Solving skills — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Judgment and Decision-Making skills — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Demonstrated high level of enthusiasm, perseverance and success building cross-functional teams.
  • “Can do” attitude to get machinery fixed in timely manner to minimize machine downtimes.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of programmable logic controllers is desired.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review and comply with all company safety policies and OSHA standards. Always wear required PPE and use proper lockout/tagout procedures when servicing equipment.
  • Initiate, implement, and manage plant maintenance and tool & die programs aligned with industry best practices, focusing on machine uptime to maximize operational efficiency proactive measures.
  • Support the development of schedules and systems to anticipate failures and extend equipment life through Preventive & Predictive Maintenance.
  • Timely recommend the ordering of parts and tools.
  • Support maintaining and improving maintenance program to minimize unplanned downtime and cost.
  • Maintain and optimize punching and stamping dies by performing die spotting and fitting, formability enhancements, and routine maintenance (cleaning, sharpening, inspecting).
  • Set up and proficiently operate lathe, milling machine, and grinder to perform repairs, adjustments, and improvements with high precision.
  • Any other responsibilities deemed necessary by leadership.
