Maintenance Mechanic (Nights)

About The Position

To repair and maintain production equipment throughout the facility, which includes extruders, flexographic printing presses and bag making machines, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer’s specifications and to repair and maintain Company buildings and facilities as necessary. This role performs data and root cause analysis and provides reliability and uptime improvement ideas to the project and reliability engineering groups. The mechanic takes ownership of an issue and works with OEM tech (possibly via phone) to come to a resolution. Repairs and maintains highly technical equipment such as servo drive systems, PC controlled systems, drive integrations systems, and electro-mechanical plant specific equipment systems. Executes projects with minimal supervision, creates training documents, and assists in training for operators and mechanics. Follows current guidelines for completing and routing work orders, purchase requisitions, parts availability and vendor information in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Provides detailed documentation of problems worked on in CMMS to ensure critical information is passed on to incoming shift of Mechanics. Performs the basics in electrical/electronics, mechanical, plumbing, machinist, lubrication, millwright, work from blueprints and manuals, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Performs work as directed on Amcor property, which may include outside grounds, resin system, and exterior of building, including high places. Must obtain people mover, fork truck, scissor lift and knuckle boom licenses. Takes inventory and control of parts and equipment as assigned. Consults with Department Management when equipment is damaged or worn out. Keeps accurate records as required. Promptly reports any malfunction or machine breakdown, damaged or worn out equipment to Management and enters work order in CMMS. Maintains a clean safe work area and self to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and other prerequisite food safety programs. Assists in the training of new or inexperienced personnel. All other duties as assigned by Management.
