About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of mechanical systems and equipment within the organization. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical systems to ensure their efficient and safe operation. The Maintenance Mechanic will work on plumbing, electrical systems, and other machinery as needed, while adhering to safety standards and company policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, including experience with HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of equipment and systems.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to maintenance work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in various conditions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems and equipment, including plumbing, electrical systems, and other machinery.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues, diagnose problems, and execute necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and systems to identify potential issues and perform preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and breakdowns in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure that all work complies with safety regulations, codes, and company policies.
  • Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments to coordinate maintenance efforts and resolve complex issues.
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools, and order additional supplies as needed.
  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced maintenance staff as required.
  • Assist with facility improvement projects and renovations as needed.
  • Ability to provide 24-hour on-call coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Must be available to respond to emergencies or urgent requests during these times to ensure continuity of care/services.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Demonstrates flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure.
