About The Position

As a Maintenance Mechanic reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment, including air compressors, boilers, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits, and all main functioning necessities in order to keep the plant in full working operation.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
  • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machine.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Daily shift inspection of RO Systems, ecotech systems, hydrogen pressure, filters, washers, liquid levels, cooling towers, air compressors, boilers, dust collectors, air, oil, and water leaks. Must check chemical waste levels throughout the plant.
  • Adheres to the plants hazardous waste pumping, storage and disposal procedures.
  • Help with oil, water or chemical spills, must be able to do Confined Space Entry.
