About The Position

ClarkDietrich, a leading manufacturer of cold-formed steel framing and interior and exterior finishing products in North America, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for their Rochelle, IL location. This role is responsible for ensuring all machines and equipment in the facility are working properly and safely, and performs preventative maintenance to minimize downtime. Requirements

• Must have their own tools.
• Knowledge in electrical install, troubleshooting, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Able to operate Lathe machine, End Mill Machine, Drill Press, Surface Grinders, Grinders, Sanders, Hand Tools, CNC Machines, Cutting Torch, Welding Machines and Brake Presses.
• Able to work with people.
• Strong work ethic.
• Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Must be able to read and write.
• Must be able to stay focused.
• At least 5 years of experience in an environment with high tech machines.
• Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication and converting fractions into decimals.
• Must be able to use and read a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer, dial bore gauge, and various other precision measurement equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• High school/GED or Trade school in machines.
• The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all machines and equipment in the facility are working properly and safe to operate.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment.
• Build gearboxes.
• Possess knowledge of each part to communicate with suppliers.
• Keep machine downtime to a minimum and perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and tools.
• May be responsible for ordering necessary parts for machine operation if a purchase is necessary.
