About The Position

This is skilled trades work in plumbing, electrical, and air conditioning equipment installation, maintenance, and repair. This position is designated as a Tier 2 respondent for designated campus emergencies and events. In the event of a declared campus emergency, the position incumbent will make every effort to return to campus when directed.

Requirements

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License.
  • Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for multiple trades or a high school diploma and 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • May require a credit check.
  • Promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse by or against any student, employee, contractor, or visitor to the University’s Title IX Administrator or any divisional Title IX Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections.
  • Electrical work.
  • Refrigeration and air conditioning work.
  • Preventive maintenance work.
  • Equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Follows safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Minor project work.
  • Supervises lesser-skilled workers in the absence of an immediate supervisor.
  • Assists other trades as needed.
  • Special events work.
  • Campus maintenance emergencies.
  • New utilities and equipment installations.
  • Work orders.
  • Picking up parts and materials from vendors.
  • Keeping the assigned shop area neat and clean.
  • Make every effort to return to campus when directed in the event of a declared campus emergency.
