We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Facilities department. This position specifically is located in Norfolk, Virginia. We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic. DESCRIPTION: TROUBLESHOOT, REPAIR AND MAINTAIN MACHINERY AND INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH DIAGRAMS, TECH MANUALS, AND WORK ORDERS. THIS WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO AIR COMPRESSORS, FIRE PUMPS, METAL SHEARS, PRESS BRAKES, DRILL PRESSES, LATHES, MILLS, AND OTHER FACILITIES AND PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT. HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE OPERATION OF POWER TOOLS, LATHES, DRILL PRESSES, BAND SAWS, GRINDERS AND OTHER EQUIPMENT TO BE EFFECTIVE AND EFFECIENT IN REPAIRING EQUIPMENT. MUST BE FLEXIBLE IN DUTIES. THE FACILITIES DEPARTMENT TAKES CARE OF ALL PHASES OF BUILDING AND EQUIPMENT REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE.
Requirements
- Personnel assigned this classification shall possess a minimum of five (5) years of documented related experience.
- Physically be able to lift 50 pounds, work outside in foul weather, climb ladders, etc.
- Have a good documented attendance record.
- PERFORM OTHER DUTIES OR TASKS AS ASSIGNED.
- BE CAPABLE OF WORKING DAY OR NIGHT SHIFT AS WELL AS WEEKENDS.
