About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for performing troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on industrial equipment to ensure efficient operation. This includes working with various machinery, following technical documentation, and utilizing a range of tools and equipment. The role also involves active participation in plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives, adapting to scheduling needs including overtime and weekend work. A key aspect of the role is the ability to lead employees in LEAN concepts and utilize the RPM program for data management.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform assigned repair and servicing tasks.
  • Willingness to work the assigned schedule.
  • Consistently demonstrate an understanding of all plant & departmental safety rules, standards, and programs.
  • Meet the essential physical requirements of the position, including the ability to negotiate steps and ladders.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions from plant supervision and efficiently and effectively perform assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for maintaining a set of personal tools as specified in the operator rate program.
  • Must be able to lead employees in LEAN concepts.
  • Working knowledge of the RPM program and the ability to enter data, navigate, and extract information from MP.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance with all safety and housekeeping rules.
  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities necessary to keep industrial equipment operating efficiently, including motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, and production machines.
  • Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Become familiar with the plant work order system.
  • Utilize hand and power tools, cranes/hoist, rigging equipment, welders, fall restraint, etc.
  • Work as part of a team, communicating and cooperating to achieve required results.
  • Take an active role in all plant safety and continuous improvement initiatives as required by supervision.
  • Adapt to scheduling requirements including shiftwork, assignment of overtime, working weekends, etc. where applicable.
