These vacancies will be filled as a Maintenance Mechanic I/II/III based on candidate qualifications. The role involves inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, lubricating, and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and equipment associated with Wastewater Treatment, Collections, and Storm/Flood facilities. Specific equipment includes heating and ventilation, boilers, chlorinators, and combustion fired engines. Depending on the level (I, II, or III), responsibilities may include directing the work of others, training apprentices, pulling system documentation, and creating/closing work orders. The position requires the ability to interpret technical documents, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and handle physically demanding tasks. The role also involves operating vehicles for transportation and material movement, maintaining a clean work area, and potentially performing minor electrical work. Participation in cross-training and other related duties as assigned are also part of the role. The position is safety-sensitive and subject to random drug testing.
