About The Position

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for trouble shooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on all equipment throughout the mill operation. This individual will also be responsible for minimizing down time by detecting potential mechanical and electrical problems.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in feed mill maintenance, industrial, or a production environment.
• MS Office – Excel, Word
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize successfully.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools in performing duties.
• Welding
• Fabrication skills
• Electrical
• Automotive/Forklifts
• Packaging Equip
• Pumps
• Compressor
• Instrumentations/Electronics
• Equipment Rebuilding
• Pneumatics/Hydraulics
• General building repairs
• MIG Welding
• Stick Welding
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance, service, or operation.
• Reads instructions / labels and performs work as assigned by department supervisor or lead.

Nice To Haves

• College coursework in technical field desired
• Computer systems to create spreadsheets is a plus
• Previous feed mill exp desired

Responsibilities

• Trouble shooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on all equipment throughout the mill operation.
• Minimizing down time by detecting potential mechanical and electrical problems.
• Must have good analytical skills, able to troubleshoot and make on the spot corrections to emergency conditions.
• Able to climb stairs and ladders and stairs and work safely at elevated heights of 200ft. and Confined Space.
• Knowledge of fabrication, electrical schematics, engineering drawings, power transmission, and pneumatics, welding and cutting are necessary.
• Light Industrial Electric required, Hydraulics, Power Transmissions, and Pneumatic; basic computer knowledge; previous feed mill exp desired.
• Special projects and/or other related duties as assigned.
