Requirements

  • 3 or more years of recent mechanical and electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
  • Excellent mechanical skills and knowledge (pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, power transmission, lubrication).
  • Excellent Electrical/electronic skills (PLC, A/C, D/C motors and drives, schematics).
  • Knowledge of industrial safety requirements especially IES/ZES.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills.
  • Overtime will be required as necessary including weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain machines in the best running condition.
  • Troubleshoot any machine problems.
  • Respond to all maintenance calls promptly and solve machine related problems with the least amount of down time.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and basic fabrication (such as lathe, mill, mig/tig welding, etc).
  • Comprehend PLC ladder logics.
  • Safely use a variety of hand tools, pressing equipment, lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, sanders, and lift equipment.
  • Perform shut down procedures.
  • Check the power, water, and vacuum pressure of machines.
  • Maintain required written reports and documentation.
  • Perform troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on production support equipment such as compressors, chillers, dryers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, fix pumps, etc.
  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
