About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment and company-owned tools to prevent breakdowns. This role also involves performing interior and exterior preventive maintenance and repairs to on-site buildings, repairing hand tools, and assisting other maintenance mechanics. The position requires a strong focus on safety, adherence to regulations, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The mechanic will also be involved in safety initiatives and reporting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ year technical training or 3 years of experience
  • Read exploded parts diagrams and schematics

  • Ability to learn operation of Computer maintenance program

Nice To Haves

  • Precast concrete knowledge is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance according to the preventive maintenance program for production equipment and company owned tools (e.g. grease bearings, lubricate slides, change oil in gearboxes, fill auto greasers, replace filters, etc.) to prevent breakdowns.
  • Performing job safely everyday by knowing and following current government safety regulations, Molin safety policies and manufacturers’ recommendations.
  • Testing and understanding basic electrical equipment, hydraulic equipment and pneumatic apparatus.
  • Reviewing safety/maintenance checklists completed by machine operators and reporting to management all safety and maintenance requests promptly.
  • Performing interior and exterior preventive maintenance and repairs to on-site buildings as directed.
  • Repairing hand tools (power tools, saws, welders, cutting torches, multi-meters) or recommending replacement if requires excessive maintenance.
  • Providing assistance to other maintenance mechanics when dismantling, replacing defective parts and reassembling machinery.
  • Submitting parts request to Supervisor for approval as needed for repair parts or as needed to maintain inventory used to perform preventative maintenance duties.
  • Welding with wire feed and stick on mild steel.
  • Operating overhead bridge cranes and using rigging properly.
  • Operating Boom type man lift safely.
  • Conducting safety walks, completing accident and near miss forms, participating in safety meetings, and other activities as assigned to promote a safe workplace.
