About The Position

Under general supervision of the Maintenance Foreman, performs preventative maintenance, operational functions and repairs to building systems, utilities and industrial machinery in strict accordance with established safety practices procedures. Knowledge of major systems listed below: Steam systems Boiler or Combined Heat and Power Plant maintenance Compressed air systems Plumbing systems / underground piping Electrical systems up to and including 480 volts, emergency generators, and UPS equipment Steam driven mechanical equipment. Executes all work, as they apply to work performed by self or by personnel under supervision, in compliance with environmental safety health and quality (ESHQ) and security responsibilities established by Argonne National Laboratory's ESHQ policies, Safeguards and Security policies, work rules, and safe practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of technical school training or equivalent in an industrial maintenance program and three years of professional industrial maintenance experience in two or more of the following categories: Steam systems, Boiler or Combined Heat and Power Plant maintenance, Compressed air systems, Plumbing systems / underground piping, Electrical systems up to and including 480 volts, emergency generators, and UPS equipment, Steam driven mechanical equipment.
  • OR Minimum five years of professional experience in industrial maintenance with expertise in two or more of the above categories.
  • Good knowledge and use of a PC are required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good skills in oral and written communications.
  • Employees are responsible for maintaining an acceptable attendance record.
  • Must be able to obtain a government access authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in predictive maintenance processes and methodologies is desired.
