The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as facility maintenance. Tasks include start-up and shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, maintaining and operating boilers, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and other systems. This role assists the Maintenance Manager with all plant maintenance operations, ensuring that plant premises and equipment are kept in safe and clean condition. The mechanic will also assist in building a maintenance program that optimizes the plant’s uptime, considers costs, and satisfies all industry regulations and OSHA guidelines. Responsibilities include completing PMs, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding equipment, and documenting work done without direct supervision. The mechanic will monitor equipment for proper operation and work closely with management to repair or replace equipment as needed. Monitoring boilers and associated equipment for proper operation is also a key duty. The role involves assisting outside contractors with repairing and installing machinery, and applying general plumbing and HVAC skills to maintain equipment and facility. Compliance with company policies and procedures, maintaining a neat and clean working area, and operating a forklift to unload and load trucks are also expected. Other duties as assigned may be required based on the scope of work or customer needs.
