About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of the mechanical equipment throughout the site to insure minimal disruption to the production process. Mechanics report to a Maintenance Supervisor. This group is providing services to the production and research areas 7 days a week. Employees perform a wide variety of maintenance activities on 8 or 10-hour shifts, with occasional overtime work extended to 12-hour shifts. A Mechanic may be required to work in one or more plant areas, doing one or multiple assignments during any given work-shift. In order to support the production activities. Implements and supports the environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) management system and the company’s Quality & EH&S Policy. Performing all duties under strict adherence to cGMP. Broad knowledge of a wide variety of production and maintenance equipment and processes Records time entry and repair activities in SAP, verbally communicates with operators and the production shift supervisor. Demonstrates effective teamwork behavior, promotion of process efficiency, and effectively communicate safety and procedural issues with coworkers and supervisor. Demonstrates an ability to perform under conditions of continuous physical activity in the performance of their assigned duties. Able to physically access equipment for servicing and maintenance below the ground, at ground level and at multiple elevations. Able to perform basic machining operations. Punctual, good attendance and the ability to adjust to a variety of assignments. Performs job duties with supplied work instructions and/or follows CPK work order instructions with minimal direct supervision. Follows Company, state, and federal guidelines concerning safety and environmental protection. Proper use of Mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) conforming to cGMP standards is required. The employee must be capable of operating forklifts, trucks, scissor-lifts, lifting equipment, welding equipment, and various hand tools. Employee must have personal hand tools.

Requirements

  • Basic mathematics and English language reading skills
  • Aligning capabilities with a laser tool
  • Experience with Drive systems, Valves, Pipe Fitting and Rigging
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Suite and SAP
  • Prior employment experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment of at least 5 years

Nice To Haves

  • Machinists experience
  • Post-secondary education/certification in some mechanical field
  • AA degree
