About The Position

This role is for a Maintenance Mechanic, B Level, working on the 2nd shift with hours from 6pm to 6:30AM. The position is in the Maintenance Department and is an hourly role. The mechanic will be responsible for maintaining mechanical devices, troubleshooting issues, performing repairs, and ensuring production equipment runs smoothly. This includes routine preventive maintenance, inventory management, and contributing to a safe and efficient work environment. A working understanding of food safety requirements is also necessary.

Requirements

Must follow all safety regulations required by Company and OSHA.
Required to have the ability to complete daily task without assistance.
Ability to initiate trouble shooting skills to improve the process and/or make repairs.
Ability to effectively apply basic electrical skills (learning the use of a multimeter).
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Have a working understand of food safety requirements as outlined in BRC, SQF and USDA.
Ability to communicate with others orally.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Must follow all safety regulations required by Company and OSHA.
Required to stay in role for 1 year before advancement opportunities in another mechanical skill class.

Responsibilities

Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Observes and learns the process of production and equipment knowledge.
Completes daily tasks without assistance.
Initiates troubleshooting skills to improve the process and/or make repairs.
Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools, and examining form and texture of parts.
Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks.
Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Applies basic electrical skills, including learning the use of a multimeter.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintains a working understanding of food safety requirements as outlined in BRC, SQF and USDA.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Fills out Daily Maintenance Form.
May require working from heights with equipment such as boom lift, scissor lift, or ladder.
