The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs of machinery and mechanical equipment. This includes motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, physical structures, plumbing, hydraulic, electrical, and automated systems. The role involves performing maintenance functions and making repairs in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic breakdowns with minimal guidance from the maintenance supervisor. The mechanic will also plan, obtain cost estimates, and execute projects under supervisor guidance, troubleshoot and perform mechanical and electrical repairs, and provide training in areas of expertise. Responsibilities include responding to work orders, assisting the supervisor with ordering parts and developing/implementing a preventative maintenance program, participating in quality improvement programs, and supporting new equipment installation and facility improvements. The position requires working safely, observing safety rules, policies, and procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, maintaining compliance with company quality systems, supporting audits, and performing basic design and fabrication for repairs and process improvements. Other duties may be assigned.
