About The Position

Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs all conveyor, sortation, and related material handling equipment; Heating, HVAC, plumbing and / or other specialized areas to ensure proper, safe and efficient mechanical / electrical operation within the Distribution Center. Install new or modify existing equipment or systems, and as necessary designs, fabricates and installs specialized equipment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational training in a related technical field.
  • State Licensure or proven Knowledge and experience in one or more areas (Electrical, Welding, HVAC, plumbing, etc.
  • Two plus years experience in industrial maintenance field with demonstrated preventative maintenance.
  • Experience in materials handling systems.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, basic math skills, a must.
  • Familiarity with OSHA/NFPA/NEC standards to include the use and understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Must maintain safe work practices and housekeeping standards.
  • Ability to grasp, bend, lift, or otherwise move items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Work in various shifts to meet business needs as required.
  • All tools must be both standard and metric.
  • 1 Socket, Wrench and 1 Allen Key set, 1 screwdriver set, 1 hammer and 1 plier set.
  • 1 Electrical Multimeter.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in Outlook, CMMS, IRIS, ICW a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical and / or electrical equipment to include motors, pumps, conveyers, hydraulics, electro- mechanical control systems, power equipment, safety devices, or other specialized equipment.
  • Examines parts and equipment to diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs or installations in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Inspects completed repairs or installations.
  • Maintains and repairs a variety of building operation systems to include plumbing, electrical, heating, refrigeration, sprinklers, etc.
  • Recommends and implements improvements to equipment, operations and procedures.
  • Prepares requisitions for new parts and equipment.
  • May contact vendors for service or parts.
  • Performs special projects or duties as assigned.
  • May assist or guide other maintenance associates in preventative maintenance of equipment and / or safety procedures.
  • Performs maintenance service in plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, and minor construction.
  • Certified on all Power Equipment Ex: forklift, boom lifts, scissor lifts etc.
