This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters. The Maintenance Mechanic will maintain optimum functionality of all plant equipment and systems. This role performs equipment inspections and completes predictive and preventive maintenance activities, including data entry. The mechanic will also repair, troubleshoot, and modify equipment and systems as needed, inspect facility buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify maintenance needs, and determine both immediate and long-term maintenance and repair requirements. The position involves creating and managing work orders using maintenance computer software and completing, signing, and submitting work orders to the Maintenance Supervisor with accurate documentation. Additional duties include performing maintenance-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor, identifying and communicating follow-up work requirements, supporting continuous improvement of equipment and conditions across all facility departments, collaborating effectively as a team member while maintaining a positive attitude, promoting and communicating maintenance and reliability best practices throughout the organization, and performing additional duties as required. Housekeeping and maintaining a clean work environment, attending safety training sessions, and participating in team communication and operational meetings are also part of the role.
