About The Position

Brightway's Maintenance Mechanic maintains buildings and homes for the people Brightway supports in a professional manner. Must have prior experience as a carpenter, plumber, electrician, painter or landscaper.

Requirements

Must possess a skill in one of the following trades: carpenter, plumbing, electrical, painting and/or landscaping
NYS drivers license and approved to drive Brightway vehicles
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions

Nice To Haves

Prior experience as a carpenter, plumber, electrician, painter or landscaper

Responsibilities

Maintain buildings and homes in a professional and safe manner
Complete work orders and job assignments in a timely and professional manner
Interact appropriately and politely with all staff and clients
Offer suggestions on how best to maintain buildings and homes
Identify and repair all potential safety, maintenance or citation issues
Keep appropriate records and receipts
On call 24-7 for all agency emergencies
Must be available for snow and ice removal
Must be flexible to stay late, or come in early or work weekends for projects or agency events as assigned
Must be willing to perform all aspects of work in the Maintenance Dept. on an "as needed" basis (mop calls, landscaping, painting, cleaning, etc.)
