About The Position

Prime Conduit, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Machine Mechanic to join their team. This role is crucial for maintaining the high-quality production of conduit products that serve the electrical, telecommunications, and utility sectors. The facility emphasizes teamwork and innovation. The Extrusion Machine Mechanic will be responsible for mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of production machinery, including extrusion fabrication equipment, to ensure reliable equipment performance and meet production standards.

Requirements

  • Strong 480v electrical experience.
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience with manufacturing machines.
  • Must have tools and toolbox.
  • Able to independently trouble shoot and repair machines and electrical control boxes for machines.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years minimum of Proven mechanic and electrical experience.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, machinery and systems.
  • Proficient in diagnosing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic equipment issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and blueprints.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification or relevant trade qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of production machinery, including extrusion fabrication equipment.
  • Support plant operations and ensure equipment performs reliably to meet production standards.
  • Work with Plant Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor and Lead to complete mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Take periodic inventories of maintenance supplies, tools and prepare ordering information for purchasing by Supervisor.
  • Visually inspect maintenance jobs in progress and upon completion to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and lubrication on production machinery and other plant equipment and facilities.
  • Build and install new equipment for plant improvement projects and make new tooling and equipment for replacement of worn-out items.
  • Repair broken or defective equipment as scheduled.
  • Assist production personnel with mechanical, electrical or other operational problems with any plant equipment.
  • Assist in performance of emergency maintenance work on a rush basis when production is adversely affected or directed by Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance, tools and parts, and training records.
  • Prepare periodic status reports from these records as necessary.
  • Originate necessary work orders and plan, schedule and expedite completion of such work orders as approved by the Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor.
  • Maintain work order log and files and prepare periodic status reports.
  • Attend training programs or sessions to improve level of knowledge and skills.
  • Inform Supervisor of needed parts, equipment or training requirements.
  • Keep work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Wear and maintain in good condition all personal safety devices required and work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Develop and maintain a good attendance and employment record.
  • Perform any and all other duties outlined and requested by immediate supervisor.
