About The Position

This position is for a Maintenance Mechanic who will be responsible for light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks, completed in a safe, professional manner. The role involves joining a supportive team and playing a key role in keeping the facility safe and running smoothly. This position will also cover clinics in Sioux Falls and the surrounding area. Requirements

  • Possess basic mechanical knowledge
  • Show competence in the use of hand tools, meters, measuring devices and gauges
  • Ability to explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting
  • Function with safety, moral and efficiency of the department in mind
  • Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled
  • Understand written and verbal communications
  • Good written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Depending on location, a valid driver's license and a good driving record may be required

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to work from blueprints, schematics and technical manuals
  • Trade school or vocational school
  • Minimum of two years experience in building systems

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repairs
  • Troubleshoot issues and accurately explain conditions and solutions
  • Read and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment
  • Perform light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks
  • Take extra precautions when working in patient/resident care areas and specifically keep tools out of the reach of children
  • Comply with all corporate and facility policies and dress code
  • Perform installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations, to ensure a safe and efficient environment (depending on facility size)
  • Maintain campus grounds and perform other outside maintenance duties (depending on facility size)
  • Perform general duties such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair and maintenance (depending on facility size)
  • May require on-call duties as needed or as directed by the department
