About The Position

This position is for a Maintenance Mechanic who will be responsible for light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks, completed in a safe, professional manner. The role involves joining a supportive team and playing a key role in keeping the facility safe and running smoothly. This position will also cover clinics in Sioux Falls and the surrounding area. Sanford Health is headquartered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has 53,000 employees, and serves over 2 million patients and nearly 425,000 health plan members across the upper Midwest. Requirements
- Possess basic mechanical knowledge
- Show competence in the use of hand tools, meters, measuring devices and gauges
- Ability to explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting
- Function with safety, moral and efficiency of the department in mind
- Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled
- Understand written and verbal communications
- Good written and oral communications skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Depending on location, a valid driver's license and a good driving record may be required
Nice To Haves
- Ability to work from blueprints, schematics and technical manuals
- Trade school or vocational school
- Minimum of two years experience in building systems
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repairs
- Troubleshoot issues and accurately explain conditions and solutions
- Read and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Maintain a safe and efficient work environment
- Perform light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks
- Take extra precautions when working in patient/resident care areas and specifically keep tools out of the reach of children
- Comply with all corporate and facility policies and dress code
- Perform installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations, to ensure a safe and efficient environment (depending on facility size)
- Maintain campus grounds and perform other outside maintenance duties (depending on facility size)
- Perform general duties such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair and maintenance (depending on facility size)
- May require on-call duties as needed or as directed by the department
