About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic supports production by constructing, maintaining, and testing mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. The role responds to equipment issues reported by production, helps diagnose potential mechanical problems, and performs preventative maintenance. The position is based at the Waco Prepared Foods Facility in Waco, Texas, and offers a starting pay of $21.50 per hour. The role requires following safety, USDA, HACCP, and plant rules and regulations. Assignments must be completed accurately and efficiently while considering time and resources. Other duties may be assigned as production demands require. Requirements

At least one year of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to physically perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities representative of the role's listed qualifications.

Responsibilities

Follow safety, USDA, HACCP, and plant rules and regulations.
Construct, maintain, and test mechanical equipment, machinery, and components.
Identify parts or machines that need new or replacement parts.
Use shop mathematics to complete assignments.
Interpret equipment drawings to adjust, maintain, or repair machinery.
Respond to production-area requests concerning mechanical equipment issues.
Communicate with production management and personnel to diagnose problems and identify potential mechanical problems.
Perform preventative maintenance.
Complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently with regard to time and resources.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support production demands.
