About The Position
This position with APD will serve staff and management across the Agency. Your work will impact the workplace culture, our community, and the population we serve as we continuously strive to achieve the Agency’s mission. The position works the second (2nd) shift schedule, which includes weekend and holiday hours. Responsible for installing and repairing all utility equipment necessary to keep Sunland operating on a daily basis. This is to include but not limited to compressors, fans, pumps, generators, chillers, washers, dryers, plumbing, and other related equipment on a daily and on-going basis. Participate in any painting operations as needed.
Requirements
- Experience in maintenance and repair of buildings
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of the skilled building trades or mechanical repair work.
- Knowledge of safety procedures required in maintenance and repair work.
- Skill in using tools and equipment in maintenance and repair work.
- Ability to perform a variety of skilled trades functions.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to install, maintain and repair electric motors, generators and other mechanical equipment.
- Ability to take accurate measurements.
- Ability to follow instructions.
Responsibilities
- Do preventative maintenance on all utility equipment at Sunland which includes but not limited to inspecting and repairing of piping, pumps air handlers, compressors, installing and maintaining and repairing valves, sinks, wash bowls, sewers, replacing a/c filters, etc.
- Keep all applicable preventative maintenance records up to date.
- Perform any task to keep the equipment clean, operating, and safe on a daily and on-going basis.
- Maintain and carry out a full preventative maintenance program in relationship to the buildings at Sunland. Example but not limited to repairing, installing, and changing windowpanes, repairing, and cleaning roofs and gutters, wash walls, clean and paint mechanical rooms, any task deemed necessary to preserve the life of the building on a daily and on-going basis.
- Keep all preventative maintenance records deemed mandatory up to date.
- Maintain tool control and tool control logs.
- Process work orders.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Complete all assigned staff training deemed mandatory.
