About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing a wide range of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting, and refrigeration operations. This includes installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial and industrial equipment. The role involves regular preventative maintenance, responding to work requests for general facilities repairs, and maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and wearing required protective equipment. The position also includes maintaining and organizing spare parts, performing minor construction and installation, training team members, and responding to emergencies. Additionally, the Maintenance Mechanic will detect faulty operations and materials, perform both emergency and scheduled repairs on production equipment, and contribute to production improvement processes through root cause analysis and TPM recommendations. The role may also involve creating drawings, diagrams, and schematics.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, industrial and PLC experience required.
  • Previous experience with five (5) to twenty (20) ton A/C units.
  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • HVAC certification.

Responsibilities

  • Performs electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting and refrigeration operations including, but not limited to installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining commercial and industrial equipment.
  • Performs regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Responds to work requests by performing and completing general facilities repairs in a timely manner.
  • Maintains and repairs various machinery and equipment.
  • Maintains a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and wearing protective equipment as required.
  • Performs routine checks and evaluates necessary maintenance to the facilities.
  • Provides recommendations for facilities improvements.
  • Maintains and organizes spare parts and consumables.
  • Performs minor construction and installation of fixtures and accessories.
  • Trains and coaches internal team members.
  • Responds quickly in the event of an emergency, notifying appropriate personnel and following safety protocols.
  • Detects faulty operations, defective materials and reports those and any unusual situations to appropriate supervisor or manager.
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance of production equipment during machine service.
  • Provides materials lists, method plans and schedules for small to medium sized projects.
  • Participates and is actively involved in the production improvement process.
  • Demonstrates root cause analysis techniques and recommends Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) procedures.
  • May create drawings, diagrams and schematics after analyzing data.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
