The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs of machinery and mechanical equipment. This includes motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, physical structures, plumbing, hydraulic, electrical, and automated systems. The role involves performing maintenance functions and making repairs in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic breakdowns with minimal supervision from the maintenance supervisor. The position also entails planning, obtaining cost estimates, and executing projects, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical repairs, and providing training in areas of expertise. The Maintenance Mechanic will respond to work orders, assist the supervisor in ordering parts and developing a preventative maintenance program, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Additionally, the role supports the installation of new equipment and facilities improvements, ensures safe work practices, maintains compliance with company quality systems, and performs basic design and fabrication for repairs and process improvements. Other duties may be assigned.
