About The Position

Allied Resource Recovery is a locally owned and operated recycling company that has been serving southeastern Wisconsin since 1938. Our recycling and processing facilities in Waukesha and West Allis serve both commercial customers and the public. We are adding an experienced Maintenance Mechanic / Industrial Maintenance Technician to our maintenance team. This is a hands-on position responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of industrial and mobile equipment, including balers, conveyors, forklifts, loaders, hydraulic equipment, and related recycling machinery. Our primary maintenance facility is located near our main commercial processing plant in Waukesha. If you enjoy troubleshooting equipment, working independently, and having variety in your day without rotating shifts, this may be a great opportunity for you.

Requirements

  • Several years of industrial maintenance, heavy equipment maintenance, or related mechanical experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic equipment strongly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment problems and work independently.
  • Experience with forklifts, loaders, balers, conveyors, or similar industrial equipment is highly desirable.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience is helpful.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record to operate a company maintenance vehicle.
  • Ability to provide your own basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial recycling equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on balers, conveyors, forklifts, loaders, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and help minimize production downtime.
  • Perform welding and fabrication when needed, based on your abilities.
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.
  • Assist with building and facility maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
  • Travel between our Waukesha and West Allis facilities using a company maintenance vehicle when necessary.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
