About The Position

Assists in the repair and maintenance of equipment or machinery. This role involves performing basic routine maintenance on plant equipment, understanding basic preventative techniques, and diagnosing and repairing breakdowns related to machinery, utility services, and building structures. The mechanic will specify necessary tools, parts, and surplus stock to minimize operational downtime. They will use various tools and instruments to repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment according to specifications. Additionally, the role requires accurate completion of all necessary documents, adherence to 5S standards, and compliance with Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned may also be part of the role.

Requirements

• Perform work under direct supervision
• Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher level staff
• Possess beginning to working knowledge of subject matter, including fluid dynamic application
• 0 to 2 years of experience
• Experience driving powered industrial equipment
• Ability to interpret work instructions
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions
• Basic verbal and written communication skills
• Manual dexterity
• Ability to lift/move heavy objects
• Physical stamina
• Ability to work as part of a team

Nice To Haves

• Powered industrial equipment certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform basic routine maintenance on plant equipment
• Understand basic preventative maintenance techniques
• Diagnose and repair all breakdowns pertaining to machinery, utility services and building structures
• Specify the necessary tools, parts and surplus stock to minimize operational down time of operations
• Use hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments to repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, blueprints, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment
• Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
• Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
• Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned
