About The Position

Keystone Powdered Metal Company, a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is seeking an experienced, full-time maintenance mechanic for its Cherryville, North Carolina location. The position reports to the Maintenance Manager and performs maintenance, repair, installation, rebuilding, and improvement work on production equipment, facilities, and related tools and fixtures. The mechanic performs preventive maintenance, keeps logs and accurate records of maintenance shop operations, and works safely and efficiently in a team environment to support equipment operation and team harmony. The role also contributes input to continuous process and equipment improvement and communicates job-related information effectively.

Requirements

Ability to read and write.
Ability to comprehend procedures, process documents, work instructions, and equipment manuals.
Understanding of basic math.
Ability to write process and progress information.
Setup or machine maintenance experience.
Demonstrated mechanical ability.

Responsibilities

Perform operations necessary to maintain, install, construct, remove, rebuild, and repair equipment.
Install, rebuild, and repair production equipment and facilities.
Perform preventive maintenance duties.
Maintain necessary logs and records.
Make and repair equipment parts to the required accuracy.
Work safely and efficiently in a team environment to maximize equipment operations and support team harmony.
Provide input to continuous process and equipment improvement.
Make minor repairs and adjustments to machines, gauges, and equipment.
Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment and fixtures.
Document maintenance shop operations accurately.
Communicate job-related information effectively.
Maintain machine tools and equipment.
