About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for making new and repairing existing machines, tools, and fixtures. This role involves performing all operations necessary to construct, develop, alter, fit, align, adjust, calibrate, and repair tooling, special machines, and equipment. The mechanic will collaborate with engineers and the purchasing department on requisitions, and with maintenance personnel during the construction of special machines and equipment to ensure proper maintenance and repair. The position requires the ability to supply sketches to engineering for drawing creation, operate all tool room machines and equipment, and perform on-site disassembly and reassembly procedures. Communication with maintenance personnel, engineers, and vendors is essential, as is performing basic support tasks of various trades safely. Maintaining a clean and safe work area and performing multiple work assignments are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • Must be capable of trouble shooting and problem-solving during machine and or tool repair process.
  • Must be capable of working independently with little supervision.
  • Notify Supervisor of issues that affect cost and timing.
  • Must be capable of measuring and machining parts to print tolerances.
  • Must be capable of expediting machine/tool repairs within tool room or with vendors.
  • Must be capable of adjusting schedules to react to changes in resources (personnel/equipment).
  • Notify Supervisor and/or Lead Person when necessary to replenish departmental supplies.
  • Perform other miscellaneous related duties as assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Light industrial electrical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Makes new and repairs existing machines, tools and fixtures by performing all operations necessary to construct, develop, alter, fit, align, adjust, calibrate and repair tooling, special machines and equipment.
  • Works with engineers and purchasing department to create purchasing requisitions for components, tools and dies.
  • Works with maintenance personnel during the construction of special machines and equipment builds to account for correct maintenance and repair of those machines and tools.
  • Capable of supplying sketches to engineering, to enable drawings to be made of tooling or new special machines and equipment.
  • Must be capable of operating all tool room machines and equipment.
  • Must be capable of on-site disassemble & reassembly procedures.
  • Communicates with maintenance personnel, engineers and vendors.
  • Perform basic support type tasks of various trades that can be completed safely.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Associates will be trained in and perform multiple work assignments.
