About The Position

The Zildjian Company is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic for 2nd shift, Monday - Friday, 3pm - 11pm. This position is eligible for a 10% shift differential. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7-years’ experience in industrial electrical-mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting. This position includes maintenance, installation, troubleshooting and repair of equipment and machinery, including occasional fabrication to support equipment repairs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial electrical-mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with repair of manufacturing equipment including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated manufacturing equipment including the ability to rebuild complex mechanical components.
  • Experience and training in PLC’s /HMI’s programming and diagnostics (Allen Bradley, etc.).
  • High school education required.
  • Knowledge and understanding schematic diagrams, blueprints, advanced mathematic and precise measuring using instruments and tools.
  • Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment.
  • Solid working knowledge of computers.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to understand and share complex equipment issues and troubleshooting.
  • Mental and visual reasoning needed. Concentration required for intense and complex work. Good judgment needed. Strong evidence of mechanical aptitude and critical thinking.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or training from a vocational school or as an apprentice or journeyman preferred.
  • Trade school or a specific credential preferred in an area of expertise such as programmable controllers, welding, electrical, mechanical is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and execute maintenance on all production equipment with emphasis on equipment safety and uptime.
  • Collaborate with engineering to resolve quality and production related issues in the spirit of continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and correct PLC and control circuit faults, utilizing electrical test equipment as needed. Familiarity with Allen-Bradley control architecture preferred.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Perform basic machining (mill, lathe, drill) and welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) to fabricate replacement parts and modify machine components.
  • Diagnose and analyze difficult operating malfunctions and prioritize major, extensive, or emergency repairs.
  • Utilize and improve the CMMS to document work orders, prioritize preventative maintenance programs, and perform timely equipment inspections.
  • Participate in continuous improvement in safety, quality, and housekeeping.
  • Clearly communicate maintenance situations within the department as well as from shift to shift and to engineering and management.
  • Familiar with OSHA and job site safety practices including LOTO, confined space, and working at heights.
  • Ability to work individually on projects and collaboratively in a team environment.
