About The Position

The Reliability Mechanic is responsible for overseeing, maintaining, performing tooling changes and setup, and the installation and repair of electrical (minor electrical), plumbing, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems in production/processing equipment. This role may involve evaluating problematic systems and determining necessary repairs. Depending on business needs, the mechanic may be assigned to Plant 1, Plant 2, Arils, or the Scholar Department, all of which are part of the Fresh Department. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining Safety and Quality in all tasks performed.

Requirements

  • Ability to meet and deal tactfully and courteously with fellow employees and vendors/contractors.
  • Ability to install, inspect, repair and maintain the basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other related systems.
  • Ability to perform various clean-up and maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Ability to update inventories and other supplies as needed.
  • Ability to understand complex written and oral instructions.
  • Thorough knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.
  • Ability to weld MIG/TIG, stick, and sanitary.
  • Ability to follow all food safety programs and policies.
  • High School or GED or related technical field.
  • At least two years of education and training beyond high school level in general maintenance and repair, or a closely related area.
  • One year experience in maintenance operations including two years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Other similar work or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all company and OSHA safety programs are followed.
  • Ensure all GMP policies and Food safety procedures are followed.
  • Ensure all required GFSI, FDA, USDA, Third Party Audit, and company procedures and policies related to food safety are followed.
  • Inspects work for completeness and informs supervisor when job assignments / PM are complete and ready for inspection.
  • Determines material, equipment, and supplies to be used and transfers equipment from one project to another as necessary.
  • Keeps routine records and PM records up to date.
  • Installs, inspects, repairs and maintains the electrical (minor electrical), plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other related systems in Beverage department.
  • Inspects major contract work on mechanical and other related systems and assists when necessary to understand all new installations or changes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
