HP Hood is seeking a self-driven Maintenance Mechanic to join their team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repairs to machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
High level of demonstrated mechanical experience and aptitude required.
Experience with welding, electrical, boilers, refrigeration, machinery repair and PLC troubleshooting and programs.
Strong analytical and computer skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be self motivated.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate knowledge of safety areas reviewed in the safety orientation program.
Perform a variety of installations and preventative maintenance on plant and facility equipment.
Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment including electrical and plumbing, ensuring equipment is in good repair and in a safe operating condition.
Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair pumps, boilers, steam system, water system, hydraulic system, pneumatic system, and any fluid system as applies.
Be familiar with the plant facility and general operations of same.
Handle tools and equipment properly and use required protective gear.
Perform light welding, grinding and cutting.
Comply with all Federal State and Company Safety Guidelines and procedures.
Participate in the development of preventative maintenance procedures for various pieces of equipment.
Responsible for wastewater treatment operations.
Work with little supervision.
Some overtime and/or weekend work may be required, as well as holiday work.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Execute assigned duties with minimal supervision.
Perform assigned duties satisfactorily and in a timely manner.
Perform assigned duties following “Good Manufacturing Practices.”
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.
